(guesthouse of light and space) is a charming traditional boutique guesthouse featuring just 4 well-appointed guest rooms. Nestled in the heart of Kythira island, the property draws inspiration from local architectural traditions and enjoys a serene natural setting between the picturesque villages of Aroniadika and Pitsinades.
Each guest room offers a spacious private terrace with sweeping views of the Ionian Sea and the island landscape. In the evenings, guests can enjoy the spectacular sight of the sun setting over the water.
the charming village kafenion, Grigorakis, is just a short walk from the guesthouse. A little further down the road, you’ll find the restaurant Souvlike (currently closed) and a large supermarket. Several other good dining options are also nearby.
Potamos, the main village in the northern part of the island, is about 4 km from the guesthouse. It offers all necessary amenities including ATMs, supermarkets, shops, kafenions, and restaurants. Every Sunday morning, the local market takes place in the village square—a genuine social gathering where islanders come to sell their goods. While enjoying a Greek coffee or tsipouro, locals review the week’s events.
Some of the island’s most beautiful beaches are within a 15-20 minute drive from the guesthouse.

A lithograph made by George Tzannes, an American artist of Greek origins.
He studied at the Art Students League in New York and lithography at Pratt. In 1971, he went to Kythira for the first time. He was taken by the island’s natural beauty and how the people there still lived connected to the land. He has been going back ever since, living part of the year on Kythira and part in New York City, with studios in both places. His work has been exhibited in the United States and in Greece. Kythira has been the subject of his art expressed in a variety of techniques including painting, drawing, monotype, and sculpture.

We stayed this week at Xenonas Fos ke Choros, and we truly feel lucky to have found an available studio during this peak summer season. We are so satisfied with our stay that it’s hard to find the right words. The place is peaceful, clean, romantic, and full of charm, with a stunning view — and the hosts go above and beyond to make you feel at home. I highly recommend it to everyone! Just a couple of weeks ago, a large part of Kythira island was struck by a devastating wildfire. Xenonas Fos ke Choros found itself in the middle of the flames, driven by strong winds. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the hosts, their friends, and by God's mercy, the guesthouse was saved. Respect! Sadly, a large part of their beautiful garden — and the surrounding hills — was burned. Yet, this hasn’t diminished the charm or majesty of the place in the slightest. It now stands like a phoenix rising from the ashes. We will definitely book here again!Posted on Dinos Vlachos17 June 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Beautiful place with a fantastic hospitality!! Our best holidays ever!!Posted on Vanessa Lock22 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We spent 5 wonderful nights in the downstairs suite Elia. The views were so peaceful and the sunsets and stargazing were excellent. The suite had everything we needed to cook dinner each night. Groceries were right around the corner. (We opted to eat lunches out while exploring, and dined in at night to avoid the dark winding roads) We enjoyed the house cats who visited us and Albert was a wonderful source of information on things to do. We kept his "Bible" in the car for reference. 5 stars!!!Posted on suzi hubermeier6 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ein Platz zum Wohlfühlen!!! Posted on Stathis2 August 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
