Property Description

In the middle of the island, in the traditional village of Kousounari, we offer a project of 2 separate attached houses with a renovation plan and building permits. The 2 houses can easily be connected by an internal or external door/gate.

The houses were probably built in the 19th century and consist of 6 buildings and 2 walled courtyards with a lot of privacy. The main house is a spacious kamara (a typical Kythirian room with a vaulted ceiling) with a beautiful old fireplace, an extension and a detached oven house. The other property is a traditional house, with an extension and a detached stone shed (all without a roof).

The total built-up area is 142 m2 and the ground area is 278 m2.

The buildings are structurally in good condition but need to be completely renovated.

In the building plan, the kamara is divided into a spacious bedroom with a large closet wall and a living room with a passage to the extension where the bathroom will be located. The oven house will be converted into a mini studio where 1 person can sleep. A pergola covered with bamboo will be attached to the oven house.

A stone staircase leads from the courtyard that leads over the entrance gate to a spacious roof terrace. From the terrace you have a beautiful view over the valley towards the surrounding villages including Potamos.

 

The second property will be transformed into an independant  and fully-fledged studio with a complete kitchen, a bathroom and a spacious double bed with a stone frame, that also serves as a lounge area. The shed will be converted into a terrace with a pergola covered with bamboo. 

In the extension the kitchen for the mainhouse can be created. It can be reached through an internal door from the livingroom of the mainhouse.

The house can sleep up to 7 people and is an ideal lock-up and go holiday home for a large family or 2 couples.
