Ferry Neapolis – Kythira

The ferry Porfyrousa provides a convenient link between Neapolis in the Peloponnese and the island of Kythira (Diakofti port). During peak season, there are daily sailings, while in the off-season, the ferry operates six times per week. The journey takes approximately one hour and 15 minutes. Neapolis itself is a charming town in the southern Peloponnese, about a four-and-a-half-hour drive from Athens. You can reach it by car or by bus (the bus journey takes around seven hours). The route through the Peloponnese is incredibly scenic, offering stunning views of the countryside.

While in Neapolis, you can relax on the beautiful beaches nearby or enjoy some delicious fresh seafood at one of the many tavernas.

From Neapolis, you can easily explore the wider region, including the nearby medieval fortress town of Monemvasia. This unique town is perched on a rock off the coast and offers a fascinating glimpse into Byzantine history.  

You can also take a short ferry trip to the island of Elafonisos, renowned for its spectacular beaches with crystal-clear turquoise waters and fine white sand. Simos Beach, in particular, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
