Holiday house for sale on Kythera
Our first Greek home is for sale again. About 7 years ago we bought a ruin and a small house, that were located next to each other. We renovated and connected them. This was our first experience with buildingwork in Greece and all the formalities involved. When our guesthouse was ready in 2009 we sold the house. The current owners have enjoyed living there for 7 years but now their family is growing, they decided, with pain in their hearts, that they have to buy a bigger house on the island.
It is an ideal lock up and go holiday house in perfect condition and with a lot of character. It consists of 2 small traditional rooms that are connected through inside steps. The main house is a traditional kamara (room with a vaulted ceiling) with thick walls of almost 1 meter. It has an open kitchen (with washing machine, dishwasher, refridgerator, cooking hob/oven), a sitting area and a small but complete bathroom (with shower, toilet and washing sink). The adjoining bedroom has a beautiful ceiling with beams and bamboo. It is a good size room with a washing sink, 2 build-in closets and enough space for a double bed.
All the floors and also the kitchen and the bathroom are finished with polished cement in natural colours.
The entrance of the house is on the side of the building in a dead-ending alley. On top of the bedroom is a roof terrace with a very nice view across a green valley.
Frilingianika is a lively traditional village in the centre of the island. In the village is a small cafe that serves drinks, coffee and sweets. A supermarket and restaurant are about 5 minutes driving and the busiest village of the island, Potamos is also nearby. From the village you can reach the beautiful beaches of Palaiopolis, Kaladi, and Diakofti on the east coast and Lykodimou on the west coast in less than 20 minutes.
